Contacting the Church Reverend

We needed to contact the Reverend of St Annn's Limehouse Church to ask for permission if we are allowed to use the graveyard. Julius decided to E-mail him and he replied to us, asking for how many people are going to attend and a letter from out subject teacher etc. We got Ms McLeod to type out a letter so we can give it to him. A printscreen of the conversation with the Reverend and a photo of the letter is attached below.

UPDATE: Me and Julius filmed at the graveyard and we even ended our music video with the footage that we filmed there. however, an examiner watched our video and didn't really like the ending as he thought the music was more about the characters having an argument and not the female dying.

Props

These are the props we will use for our music video. A guitar, bunch of white flowers and a cancer letter. The guitar is for when Julius is performing and singing, the bunch of white flowers are used to put on the female actress grave and the letter confirm that the female has terminal cancer and doesn't have long to live. The white flowers are used to connote peace and purity which reflect on the personality of the female actress, and for her to rest in peace.

UPDATE: Although we used the flower when we were filming, we didn't use the footage at the end because an examiner came in and said that he didn't like the graveyard ending so we had to remove it.

UPDATE - 14/12/12: Julius and I have decided not to shoot in the cable carts no more because it takes us hours to film just one scene and each ride on the cable carts is £3, which lasts only five minutes. If we did go on the cable carts we would end up spending a lot and we cant afford too many rides.
UPDATE - 16/12/12: The Tate Modern Bridge scene was cancelled and instead we thought of doing it at canary wharf.
UPDATE - 15/01/13: Julius and I went back to his house to re-shoot the letter scene as it wasn’t very clear when we used the Sony HD camera so this time we used the Nikon SLR. We also had to finish filming Julius running down the stairs as we didnt have enough time last time.
UPDATE - 20/01/13: This was kind of like a last minuite idea to do filming of Agata writting the letter as the other one we did wasn’t as emotional. As it was a last minuite thing I couldn’t go to do filming as I had an exam the next day and I needed to revise and as it was filming of just Agata, Julius was able to do the filming.
This table shows the filming schedule for our music video. We had to do a practise shoot of our artist so they get comfortable infront of a camera and get used to lip synching to the song and acting. We finished the practise shoot on the 05/12/12 and started filming for our real music video straight away. In the first week we filmed julius solo parts as Agata was busy with work and she wasnt available but now she has quite work we can start filming the parts she stars in. We have filmed the scenes in Julius house, the Cemetry and  Millwall Park/Mudchute Farm but we will have to go there again to film. Hopefully by this week we will finish all the filming and start editing our first draft. We are going to have to film quite alot at Agatas house such as reading the cancer letter, packing her bags and the argument with Julius. If we dont get all the filming done by then we might have to go and film there again. We need to go Canary Wharf to film the date scene of Julius and Agata with the Christmas lights in the background as it looks really romantic if they walk under the trees holding hands. We also need to do the scene of Agata writting the letter and the station scene where Agata disappears.

Testing Shoot

This is a testing shoot that I had to do so the actors confidence builds in front of the camera and so they don't feel shy. Julius had to learn the lyrics for the song before we got to film so when we edit the footage in with the music, it flows. By doing the editing it also helps as we get used to using the software and matching the lip syncing with the music, before doing the real music video.

Actress Profile

Name: Agata Tyburska
          Age: 17
          Ethnicity: Polish
Hair Colour: Brown
Eye Colour: Hazel
          Job: Waitress

The actress for mine and Julius music video is going to be Agata, she was the first person me and Julius thought of and luckily she accepted straight away. I did ask one of my friends as back up just in case Agata had a change of mind but she stuck to what she said. We knew she was going to be comfortable in front of the camera as she’s done another music video in the past. Also I and Julius are comfortable working with her as she is a close friend of Julius and she won’t let us down.

Actor Profile

Name: Julius Conmigo
Age: 17
Ethnicity: Filipino
Hair Colour: Natural: Black/Dyed: Red
Eye Colour: Brown
Job: Unemployed

After a long think and discussing who to use for our male actor, we chose to use Julius as it’s easier for both of us as were in the group together. He would take it seriously as we’re going to get a grade for the video so we need it to be good also, we have the same timetable and our free periods are at the same time so we could do filming whenever we can.

Contacting Actress

Julius asked a close friend of his, Agata, if she would like to be the female actress in our music video and she gladly accepted. Julius has told me Agata has done some modelling before and has been in a music video so I’m sure she will be comfortable in front of the camera.

Recce

Location
Potential risk to production
What would be affected?
Plan
Train Station

-Equipment may get stolen or destroyed

-People may be in the way of filming
It would be an extreme casualty if the equipment is destroyed, jeopardising the whole project

If people are in the way of filming, this could become time consuming, in result of filming over and over.
Keep the equipment in a safe box to prevent it being scattered everywhere and having someone look after it

Waiting for people to pass by is necessary to get the film going. Or have 1 or 2 individuals asking people nicely to not be in a way of filming
Canary Wharf and  Grass Field (Mudchute)
-There may be sudden changes in the weather.

-The weather can damage the equipment such as rain
-This will affect the visuals meaning the clips will be differing from each other. I.E, one of scenes could be sunny then the same exact clip could be gray/rainy

-The rain can leak into the camera and stop working which will stop us from filming
When outside during the day, it has to be filmed as quickly yet with precision to prevent casualties.

Watch the weather forecast before going out to film and prepare ourselves with umbrellas
House

-Equipment can fall onto the wooded floor and get damaged

-Our filming
Always keep an eye on the equipment and put them in a safe place when not needed

UPDATE: We decided not to film inside the cable carts as it will take too long to film inside it and each ride lasts around 5 minutes, we will end up spending a lot of money.
